I am a health and PE teacher at a junior high in Western PA. We show your videos to all our 8th grade health classes after we finish our drug unit, and they really seem to take it seriously. On another note, your story about losing your two younger brothers to drugs is the exact same thing that happened to my husband. Within the last five years, both his younger brothers died of heroin overdoses and in fact the one left behind a daughter who is now 11. Every time I watch those videos it is all I can do to hold back the tears! I am not sure how to help my husband and his family get through this but at least I know we are not alone. I truly appreciate that fact that you have made these videos and have enlisted the help of celebrities that our students look up to! I want to help; I have seen and still feel the hurt of our loss.

Thanks again and please let me know how else I can do my part here in PA!

Just a quick note to let you know how impressed I was with the Natural High video. I was approached last week by one of our school crossing guards who stated she had a drug awareness tape for me. I told her I had many tapes collecting dust in my office and I really did not need another to show my DARE students. I figured the tape was probably old and outdated with information. The crossing guard insisted on me taking it and gave it to me two days later. I left it on my police desk and didn’t get a chance to watch it until this morning. Well I have to say not only was I impressed but also wanted to thank-you for such a powerful message. I loved the tape and can’t wait to show my 5th and 6th grade DARE students. Tell John Sundt I said thank you for the impressive DVD message he has put together. I can’t wait to get a chance to see Natural High 1 & 2.

Natural High videos are working out extremely well in Falls City. This is a small community where the students often complain there is nothing to do. Seeing other young adults testify how negative drugs can be is far more affective than me trying to teach the consequences. Also, hearing young adults talk about why others do and do NOT use drugs is quite powerful. THANKS!

I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love your video series! They are so down to earth and real. They reinforce exactly the message that we talk to our students about. Our students here are always so excited when we show them the Natural High Videos. This is the first year that I have used it, but will continue to (and hopefully expand into it further with our students). This is a passionate area for me, because I have seen the destruction that drugs and alcohol have had in the lives of those I love. We strive hard to make our school feel like a family. We solidly teach and reinforce our RESPECT code of conduct in a way that the kids can relate to and live out. We have presenters come on occasion to also talk to our kids about the importance of goals and treating each other with respect.. as well as ourselves. An exciting one we have coming up is High Action Bikes. Overall, I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am to have access to a series like yours. If there are other opportunities to know about for our students, please let me know. Thank you so very much! Everything you are doing is more than appreciated.

I also thought the story at the end about the producer’s family was VERY powerful to show the real-life consequences of drug use. This DVD was VERY well done and I think it will make a positive difference to students who watch it. Thank you so much for sharing this resource with our school – we appreciate it very much!!

I have used the Natural High videos every year since I received the first one in the mail. They are consistently appropriate for all age levels and keep the interest of the students and teachers. I make my plans a semester at a time and this year it happened that I showed the video after some students returned from being suspended for smoking marijuana. The “ring leader” in that escapade happens to be a very popular kid. It was interesting to see how the kids reacted when they heard the people in the video call them “losers” and say how they will be the same as adults. It was certainly food for thought and backs up the message I give them about choosing friends based on your values. If you don’t value drug use, then don’t hang out with people who do drugs. Thank you for providing such a valuable tool in reaching young people with the anti-drug message.

I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I always steered clear of substance abuse, learning early on the damage it can do. I help to lead worship at a Christian 12-step Recovery Program (Celebrate Recovery) in Cape Coral every Friday night where hundreds of people from all walks of life and all age groups come to overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It’s amazing what God and a great program and support network can do for ANYONE struggling to break free. Just find a good group, get support, and hit your knees in sincere commitment to starting over. Life can begin again.

I want to start off by saying, Thank You. I am a fifth and sixth grade teacher. I have been running anti-drug campaigns in my school for 3 years now. Our middle school has tons of drug problems and most recently pregnancy problems…yes, our MIDDLE school. Videos like these are such an asset and helpful. It was an amazing video, my fifth and sixth grade students loved it. They have been talking about it for days. They personally told me it was an amazing video. They were all engaged from the beginning to the end. Having famous people that my students are able to recognize and respect was a huge plus. I particularly enjoyed Mr. Henson’s message, it was powerful. “Saying no…means saying YES to life”. Some of my students cried at the end when Mr. Sundt’s niece spoke. Thank you for helping me show my students that saying no is much cooler than saying yes to drugs.

My students had not considered the concept of a natural high. I am in an all black, inner city school. Many of the students come from a rough low income housing project. They see drugs sold on the corners of the streets in their neighborhood. I feel it is my duty to get them to see that they can be successful in life and have a life without drugs. Natural High 3 is one of the best DVD’s I’ve shown them. It kept their attention and was something they were interested in. They liked the discussion questions at the end. They liked Darrin Henson the best of all and also liked Mya. One thing that really impressed them was the big man who said to tell your friends no. Sometimes they think you are weak if you say no and don’t go along. I’m thankful you sent it to me for classroom use. It is hard to find material they are interested in.
